A momentary pause in our journey for some fun, Nemo and the gang are sent off on what is meant to be a fun little toboggan ride while Mr. Sleet finalizes the details for them to meet Jack Frost! - 1/8
That this toboggan ride is said to be covering 1,000 miles in two minutes… That's just… wow! - 2/8
For Nemo and the gang to cover 1,000 miles in 2 minutes, that would mean that they're travelling WELL OVER 5,000 mph… If they were travelling 2,000 mph they'd still take 30 minutes to cover 1,000 miles… - 3/8
I know I'm shoehorning logic in where it doesn't belong, but it's just crazy to think about how fast these little fellas are going… AND FLIP STILL WANTS TO STAND UP! - 4/8
Though he's warned by the Princess not to, he doesn't listen and, ultimately, causes the group to tumble off the toboggan, which is when Nemo wakes up, having fallen out of bed. - 5/8
Personally, I see the point of this strip as just about having fun (or be a little filler/break for McCay)… we're clearly meant to skirt past the speed at which they're travelling, and the fact that the track they're on just bring them right back to where they started… - 6/8
We need to continue suspending our disbelief here (lean into the surreality) and just sit back and join the three on the toboggan ride through a beautiful snowy mountain-scape! - 7/8
"This is my reading of Little Nemo in Slumberland" #71. What's yours? - 8/8
