Hello Buffalo! It's been… well, it's been over a year since I've crossed over into your neck of the woods. Thanks COVID. - 1/9
First things first. With panel 2, and the appearance of adult US Customs officers, I think my "co-dreaming" theory is all but dead. Mind you, @AlexxKay's geography class theory was much better anyway! - 2/9
The second tier isn't all that exciting; we seem to skip over a lot of the sightseeing and just sort of end up at city Hall. Flip, for his part, continues the trend of disappearing on his own mini adventure. - 3/9
That said, by panel 6, he's magically back on the airship. It seems as though McCay is striving less and less to create some clear narrative continuity with these strips, opting instead for visual set pieces. - 4/9
Which is not a complaint because, as many of your know, I'm a huge fan of McCay's rendering of water and tiers 3 and 4 are really awesome! - 5/9
Growing up on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, I've always been partial to it's representation in popular culture. Again, these are views I've seen my whole life. - 6/9
I've been on the Canadian Maid of the Mist (before it was sold and renamed Hornblower) and I've seen how awesome the Falls look up close. So these moments resonate with me. - 7/9
But, aside from that, there really isn't much else that I want to comment on with this strip, so I'll turn it over to you folks. - 8/9
This is my reading of "Little Nemo in Slumberland" #280. What's yours? - 9/9
