This strip interests me primarily because it answers a silent question that has been bothering me each year around this time and that's the visual resemblance between each passing year and Father Time. - 1/11
I guess "answers" is the wrong term, but it certainly clarifies that the years and Father Time are not one and the same being… - 2/11
Father Time, It seems is different only in the fact that he carries with him the scythe that we first saw all those moons ago on the first New Years strip (Day #12: December 31, 1905). - 3/11
Otherwise, 1910 and FT are visually identical. It really does require Nemo's explanation in panel 7, otherwise it's very confusing. - 4/11
BUT, I suppose that it makes sense… since he is the "father" of time, and each year represents the passage of time, I guess it stands to reason that they would look similar. - 5/11
Now the whole strip starts off with the gang saving the aging 1910 from a snow storm. A nice and very kind way to end the year, in my opinion. - 6/11
I will admit though that I don't really understand what's going on in panels 8 and 9… how do we go from canon fire to collecting the bell rope? - 7/11
Nemo tells us that they are at either Harvard or Yale University; both have prominent bell towers. That said, I think that this particular one more closely resembles Harkness Tower at Yale: - 8/11
The penultimate panel is really something special. As the entire city (or campus) begins to celebrate the new year, we see an explosion of colours and onomatopoeia as fireworks and banners fly! - 9/11
It's a nice start to the new year and a fun celebration marking this project nearing the halfway point! Of the 549 strips that make up the #LittleNemo series, we only gave 276 left! - 10/11
This is my reading of "Little Nemo in Slumberland" #273. What's yours? - 11/11
