Here, we have another early episode in the airship adventures that demonstrates Nemo's leadership abilities! - 1/10
Yesterday/last week focused on Nemo's bravery; he put himself in danger in order to save the lives of the children caught in the burning building. - 2/10
This strip puts Nemo's wisdom and empathy directly at the forefront. - 3/10
The farmers, whose crops are burning up from a nasty drought that they've been facing, are concerned with the fact that Nemo will be sucking their creek dry… apparently, it's one of the few left. - 4/10
Nemo promises that he will "see what can be done" to help them with their problem and, rather than simply flying away, he decides that he will use their newly full water tanks to create a faux-rain. - 5/10
The Princess seems… concerned with this plan. I don't get the sense that she thinks it's important to help these people. Between her worry for her father, and the concern about running out of water again, she seems mission-oriented. - 6/10
It makes me wonder… where have they ended up? They must not be in "Slumberland" proper, but somewhere else in the dreamscape… these people aren't her subjects, are they? - 7/10
If so, this seems extra cold. She's not monstrous here, but *almost* uncaring, which Nemo juxtaposes expertly. - 8/10
Panels 6-8 are my absolute favourite! I love the rain depiction in panel 6, and the sprinklers in panels 7 and 8 are wonderful! The airship is certainly a sight to behold! - 9/10
This is my reading of "Little Nemo in Slumberland" #223. What's yours? - 10/10
